Somewhat Tardy

But we’ll say it’s for a reason.  I noticed some interesting ‘headlines’ earlier that I want to check into before I record the intro this week.  I’ll look into these things and see what’s what.

Season 4 of Lucifer released on Netflix yesterday.  This season being produced by Netflix is ten episodes instead the network standard run of 22 episodes.  I liked it a lot.  To describe it sans spoilers, it’s worth the time if you’re at all interested in the show.  The ten episode run serves it well.  Compressing the storytelling is not the best way to put it but the quality of the storytelling is not diminished.  Once again suggesting new and interesting perspectives to the traditional catholic mythology.  And of course the wit and pith has carried forward.  I recommend you watch it.  Do with that as you will.

I also finally started The Chilling Adventures of Sabrina.  I’m enjoying that too.  Don’t forget that the end of this month on Prime Video that Good Omens will finally be available.  I can’t wait to figure out how I’m going to watch it.

Here We Go Again

Well, I missed last week.  I'm working on editing about five hours of content just from our game.  My work schedule is back to normal so I'll start getting things done this week.

This week’s episode is going to be a review of War of the Spark.  The upcoming set for Magic the Gathering from Wizards of the Coast, this Friday, May 3rd.  I'm very much excited to play this set.  It's looking like this set has a stronger than usual emphasis on planeswalkers.  I imagine that shit is gonna get weird in this one.

I’m in trouble.  It’s difficult for me to motivate and get anything done, especially on time.  I often mention how I don’t start on things until my weekend is over and I’m up against deadline.  I haven’t depressive lately but my apartment looks like shit and I don’t do the things I want to do, like this.  I could use some help.  If you guys have any tips or advice that isn’t “Just cheer up.” or “Just think happy thoughts.” I want to hear what you got.  Or just start bombarding me with tweets or whatever on Tuesday mornings so my lazy ass will get out of bed and do something.

You have the contact info, let’s figure this out together...or just take a nap instead.  Meh, whatever.

Endgame(No Spoilers)

Well, they did it.  Ten years and 22 films.  More than a dozen characters with as many stories spanning various genres and all culminating with a single film.  They did it well.

Some theories were right, many were utter bullshit.  I can't recall whether I’ve mentioned all of my long time theories on mic but one in particular did play out, nonetheless, let go of all the theories you've heard and just watch the damn movie.  You will enjoy it.  A guy in the row ahead of me kept geeking about.  Keep your eyes open and for the love of God, shut the hell up about going to the bathroom.  Just be a damn adult and act like it.  Yes, with the credits it’s more than three hours long.  Deal with it.  You look foolish bitching about not being able to drink a soda because you'll need to go potty.

I love this film.  It may be my single most favorite.  Like many if not every  MCU film, this one made me feel things.  Reminding me of things I'd forgotten lifetimes ago.  I said I won't spoil but I will give you a vague hint about something.  If you watch all of it you may notice a slight nod to The Phantom Menace.  Just go to the theater and may the toilets be unoccupied.  Enjoy.

Busy Busy Day

Ok, I'm just going to say this now.  There are a number of factors being considered right now, not the least of which is my being super duper sleepy right now.  My work schedule is all sorts of wonky so it’s not exactly realistic that I’ll be able to get the new episode released on time and I do want to record a brief, spoiler-free review of Avengers: Endgame and I'll be watching it Thursda night.  The episode will release Friday morning instead.

This weekend is going to be really busy for me again.  I didn't sleep much during FanX.  I may get a nap Friday morning otherwise, I won't be sleeping until maybe Tuesday.  Right now our impending Booster Draft/Review for War of the Spark is uncertain.  I didn't have a chance to reserve my box earlier so I don't know at the moment whether I can get one in time.  I'm working on it, though.  We will be playing more World of Darkness Friday.  Some things are changing with that but it's not going away anytime soon.

I need a nap and to finish watching Avengers: Infinity War.  Still getting ready for Endgame Thursday night.  Get ready.  This weekend is getting crazy already.

FanX Come and Gone Again

Another show done. This weekend went by fast.  It felt faster than the last show but was no less fantastic.  I take two vacations a year because FanX Salt Lake Comic Convention hosts two shows a year and I can't express how grateful I am for this.

I can't wait until FanX Fall!  September 5-7.  I can't imagine how the next show could be better than this one but they always seem to raise the bar a little more each time.

I learned from the experiences of Clark Gregg, John Cleese, and Alice Cooper. I heard the tale of Alice Coopers’s miraculous recovery after years of alcoholism.  John Cleese saying ’fuck’ numerous times let alone at all in a FanX panel, including telling an audience member to ’fuck off’.  And it was mentioned that Clark Gregg wrote ’What Lies Beneath’ which is a film that holds a special place in my heart.  And I had a conversation with an extraordinary woman that was the best 90 seconds I’d experienced in a long while.  There aren’t many things that can be better than that but we’ll see in September.

I had some stuff come up at this week so, I won’t have time to work with the content we recorded at FanX so this week’s episode will be the next installment of our adventures in the World of Darkness.  The intro will be me talking about last weekend, I’m sure.  And the convention done for now I’m going to get off my ass and start getting all this shit done right.  Stay tuned, we’re getting into some real fun now!
